Glenfiddich Master of Spirits 2013
The DFS Master of Spirits II event is an opportunity for brands to create very special one-off opportunities to buy some of the rarest and oldest liquids in the world. Creating a challenge to craft a presentation worthy of a one off liquid experience and design a suitable packaging expression while telling a story worthy of the liquid offering and provide a display case for the bottles. to realize its rarity value in the market.
The Glenfiddich ‘One to One’ concept represents the components that make Glenfiddich unique and embody the pioneering spirit at its core; the handblown and engraved Scottish glass, the copper badges crafted from the copper from their own stills, possibly the very still used to distill the liquid; the hand applied wax seals and the handcrafted oak veneered cabinet all combine the craftsmanship of many to make this a very individual and intimate experience that embodies Glenfiddich.
The cabinet is made in the Glenfiddich signature shape, crafted with American Oak veneer to represent the Glenfiddich oak casks and Red Burr Elm with a Rosewood string and crown cut Santos rosewood; veneers that express the deep colours of the European Oak finish. It is decorated using the time honoured craft of marquetry and features the William Grant & Sons signature to the front and the Glenfiddich Stags head inside, Each bottle has been carefully filled by hand, ribboned, labeled and sealed with the Glenfiddich wax seal, then signed by the Glenfiddich Chairman and Malt Master to guarantee the unquestionable authenticity.
In the secret drawer there is a personalised leather book containing Brian Kinsman’s handwritten tasting notes and additional blank ruled pages to record the precious moments spent sharing each rare dram 'One to One' with friends in the hand crafted pair of hand blown and engraved Glenfiddich glasses.
